WATER TEST INFORMATION

The following tests have limits established for safe health and are the minimum tests recommended. These tests are often required for new wells, real estate and mortgage transactions.

• Total Coliform (Bacteria)/ E. Coli
  The primary test for bacteriological quality.
  The Presence/Absence Procedure is normally a 2-day turnaround.
• Nitrate Analysis
  High levels are often attributed to the influence of septic systems, livestock yards, and/or fertilizers.
• Arsenic - High levels can be caused by natural geologic formations
• Lead - High levels can be caused by the composition of plumbing and well materials.

    -Hydrogen Sulfate (Rotten Egg Smell)
